The Center for Christian Study (CCS), a non-profit, Christian education and outreach institution adjacent to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, is seeking a Director of Communications. We are looking for a director who can effectively lead the development, implementation and management of a uniform communications strategy that advances the CCS mission among our various constituency groups: students, faculty/staff, community members, alumni, parents, and donors.
The candidate must have a heart for the gospel and the university, be committed to Christian ministry in an academic setting, and have demonstrated skills in communications and public relations. In particular, the candidate must be able effectively to represent the vision and mission of the CCS through the promotion of its ministries, programs, and services.
Minimum requirements include:
- Commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and a high level of spiritual maturity
- Agreement with the CCS statement of faith and commitment to the vision and mission of CCS
- Education and experience consistent with the job description
- Effective communication and writing skills, with a strong artistic and design sensibility
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within a collaborative team environment
- Strategic, critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- A successful track record of developing, managing, and executing print and online communication strategies, website and social networking technologies, and disseminating best practices
