Course Description
Our central calling as humans is to respond in love – with our hearts, souls, minds and actions – to the God Who speaks. One way we respond is by seeking to understand the content of our faith, in order that we might more fully delight in the beauty of God’s work on our behalf and more wisely live as His people in His world. This class is a two-semester sequence that will discuss foundational Christian beliefs and apply them to the worship, formation and mission of the Church. In Part I this fall, we will consider our confession of the God Who is three Persons, the importance of our creation in His image, the doctrine of sin, the Bible, and the person and work of Jesus. We’ll connect these theological topics to questions about marriage, family, work, rest, and the role of the Church in 21st-century America.

Wes Zell has been Director of Undergraduate Ministries at the Center for Christian Study for four years. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
