Faith & Life Weekend Seminars
Understanding Theology: An Introduction to the Trinity, Incarnation, and
Christian Thinking
Presenter: Wes Zell
Through theological study, we connect the different parts of the Bible into a big picture that testifies to the beauty of our Creator and nourishes our relationship with Him and our work in the world. Or, to use the language of the apostle Paul, theology is about
exercising the sort of knowledge and discernment that makes our love abound to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1).
This seminar will examine the fundamental methods and content of Christian theology. It will specifically consider the role of theology in the early Church and outline the development of the central Christian doctrines of Trinity, Incarnation and Atonement. The seminar will further relate the importance of theology to our calling to love God with our whole person and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
