Providing a Place for Conversations

WE PROVIDE A WELCOMING PLACE FOR THESE CONVERSATIONS TO HAPPEN

Exam-Goodies-GroupThe conversations that lead to deeper understanding of faith begin with an inviting space and events that welcome students to our building. Our home welcomes thousands of students, Grounds ministers and community members through its doors as a place to study, to gather for fellowship group meetings and to engage in discipleship and prayer. Events such as the Move-In Day Lunch, Rush Hospitality, exam snacks, tailgates and our new partnership with First Year Fellowship provide an easy entrance to the Study Center ministry. We provide a central location for Christian growth and community at the University, with plenty of spaces to meet, including our gorgeous library, prayer room, front room, newly renovated reading room and balcony.

Douglas-Colby“The Study Center has played an important role in my college life.  Through my four years, it has been a social, spiritual, and academic center.  I attended the Move-In Day Lunch my first year and participated in First Year Fellowship (FYF) at the Study Center.  Later that fall, I began hanging out with the Residents who were incredibly welcoming, and I spent more time in the Study Center library than at Alderman or Clemons.  As a first year, the Study Center became a place of comfort where I could be myself .

Jay McCabe began mentoring me my third year, and our conversations have been a source of encouragement and spiritual growth as we have discussed God’s Word and how to live like Christ.  We discuss how to prioritize school and relationships and how to share the Gospel with those around us.”
