Board Member

After receiving Bachelors of Science in both Finance and Accountancy from the University of Missouri, Mary Van E. Armistead went on to become a commercial lender and CPA before becoming a mother and full time homemaker. Together with her husband Howard L. Armistead III, Mary Van has raised three children: Caroline, Howard IV, and Elizabeth. Caroline, a former Study Center intern, graduated from the University in 2016 and Elizabeth, a member of UVA’s class of 2021, is a former Study Center intern and served on RUF’s ministry team at UVA. Her son, Howard IV, is a 2018 graduate of Wake Forest University and former RUF ministry team member.

Mary Van attends Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas and enjoys fly-fishing on the Jackson River at their farm in Bath County, Virginia.
