Understanding Popular Culture

March 27, 2010

All of us have some idea of what the phrase "popular culture" means, but few of us have thought very deeply about it. After defining the phrase, this seminar focuses on the entertainment products of American culture, developing a Christian critique of that culture's themes, techniques, and values as they are demonstrated in music, narrative, news reporting, and game-playing today. This seminar also seeks to help students develop skill at discerning how and where popular culture and biblical truth intersect.
