The Information Age bombards us with knowledge about everything all the time and we often feel numbed, turning down the barometers of our hearts because we don't know what to do. Instead, we find ways to disengage because we cannot understand how to honestly connect what we know with how we live. Is it even possible to know the world and still love it? Steven Garber's lecture seeks to chart a path neither of escape from the world, nor of naive "presence." He expands our vision of our vocation to include sorrow as well as joy, wonder and beauty as well as frailty.
