Some 300 years ago, on the cusp of the modern period, there were a number of undergraduates at Oxford, Cambridge, and Yale who were intensely earnest about their Christian faith and their spiritual disciplines. They became increasingly radical about their faith, and within a few years they sparked a religious awakening on both sides of the Atlantic. It all began as a young people’s movement.

Dr. Bruce Hindmarsh, who has completed a major study of this movement, The Spirit of Early Evangelicalism: True Religion in a Modern World (Oxford), he takes us inside the lives of young leaders at the formative time of their undergraduate education.
