Parent Partnership
The Study Center Parent Partnership is made up of UVA parents who want to be a part of a home for faith and learning at UVA. Their hearts are for their sons and daughters—and all students—to thrive spiritually, academically, and relationally during this formative time at UVA. This special community provides practical resources and offers unique opportunities for parents to be involved in the ministry happening at 128 Chancellor Street.
All parents are warmly invited to join in our ministry by attending lectures, volunteering at hospitality events, or partnering with us financially. However, if you would like to commit to and benefit from a deeper connection with the ministry, we invite you to consider joining the Parent Partnership. Below are the opportunities and commitments for this special community.
Connect
Through special online and in-person partnership gatherings, you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with other parents, some who are in your shoes and some who have gone before you. You'll also get to know the Study Center staff who are investing in students' lives day in and day out, and the home away from home that is helping to shape your son’s or daughter's time at UVA.
Learn
The Study Center works together with over 20 Grounds ministries. Because of our close connection to many ministries and Christian faculty, you'll have a window into the Christian community on Grounds. You'll also be kept up to date with the many studies, groups, and lectures happening at the Study Center, and will be able to share in what we are teaching students.
Serve
A great deal of meaningful ministry at the Study Center happens through hospitality. Parent Partners play a key role in making the Study Center a home away from home. Whether you are able to bake a dessert (or even share a special recipe), serve at Exam Snacks, welcome young ladies during Rush Hospitality, or be a part of any of our many events, you can help students feel cared for, seen, and loved throughout the year.
Pray
Parent Partners commit to regularly pray for students, staff, and the ministry taking place at the Study Center. Mothers are encouraged to consider participating with MomsHooPray—a faithful group that has been meeting since 2010, with Zoom and in-person (Northern Virginia) meetings.
Give
The Study Center's ministry is sustained each year through the faithful generosity of hundreds of alumni, parents, and community members. As a Parent Partner, you commit to financially support the staff, programs, and hospitality that make our home for faith and learning possible. We are grateful for God's faithful provision for more than 50 years and desire to steward our resources well to see students formed to Christ for generations to come.
