Foundations Week
Before first-year students step foot in a UVA classroom, they are welcomed through the doors of the Center for Christian Study.
Join us for Foundations Week 2025!
Why not start college with a dozen new friends!? Foundations Week is a four-day program designed for incoming first-year students. Foundations Week eases students’ transitions into college life by providing Christian community at UVA hours after they’ve moved into their first dorm room.
On Monday, August 18, participants will move into UVA dorms early. Lunch for students and families will be held at the Study Center at 12:30 p.m.. After lunch first-year students will embark from the Study Center to a retreat location to enjoy a week of exploring UVA Grounds, Charlottesville, and the Study Center alongside other incoming first years, upperclassmen, and Study Center staff. View a sample schedule.
There are limited spots available for this retreat, and priority applications are due June 1.
