Bible Study: Amos
1:00 p.m. | Fridays (weekly), beginning 9/1
The books of the Prophets can be some of the most challenging and even upsetting parts of the Bible for modern readers to grasp and appreciate. However, when we take a closer look at these eccentric figures, their major themes, and the role they played in Israel's history (culminating in Jesus' life), we begin to see how they reveal to us the heart and character of God.
This weekly small group will seek to wrestle with the Prophets by looking closely and thoughtfully at one book: Amos. A shepherd-turned-spokesperson-of-God, Amos calls Israel (and us, too) to count the cost of living in relationship with a God who desires to mend broken lives and crooked structures so that we all might see "justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."
This group is led by Drew Masterson and Katie Black.
