The first half of the Gospel of John is incredibly rich, both theologically and spiritually. The fourth Gospel has been a favorite recommendation for people just starting to explore Christianity. It also raises many good questions for an earnest reader:
Why is John so different from the other Gospels?
What is up with that opening poem?
Why does Jesus cleanse the temple at the beginning of his ministry?
Why is the passage about the woman caught in adultery in brackets?
We hope you’ll join us to wrestle with this beautiful and complex text as we seek to behold and respond in faith to Jesus in all his glorious humility and divine humanity!
