Making Room for the gospel to thrive at UVA

After years of planning and prayer, construction on the Making Room building expansion is now well underway! We are grateful for the many alumni, parents, and longtime Study Center friends who have invested in the future of Christian ministry at UVA.

Now we're excited to imagine the future in this new building. We look forward to expanding our ministry to students, welcoming them with love and hospitality, discipling them through friendships and mentorships, and forming them through scripture and study.

In the meantime, the Study Center will remain open throughout construction. Come by for a tour anytime. You can also follow our progress here.

Campaign Update

We are so thankful to announce we have reached our $7.6 million Making Room Building Campaign goal. Together, we are creating an expanded home for the gospel at UVA. As we continue construction and raise additional funds for project expenses, we praise God for His provision through our incredible Study Center family. Please continue to keep both the fundraising effort and the construction project in your prayers. We are eager to fully open our new home on 128 Chancellor Street.

We’ve outgrown our home.

The Lord has graciously expanded the Study Center’s ministry exponentially since opening our doors in 1976. Quite simply, our ministry has grown beyond the capacity of our current space and the Study Center’s ability to serve UVA students has been limited as a result.

Five areas of growth

  • 34% greater capacity for lectures and ministry meetings

  • Nearly doubling the space for educational resources

  • 126% increase in kitchen and hospitality space

  • Six additional restrooms and an elevator added

  • Total area of the Study Center nearly doubles

As part of the Making Room Campaign, we have set a $4 million Planned and Estate Giving goal to help secure the ministry of the Study Center for years to come.
