Board Member

David Leitch was a student at the University of Virginia School of Law from 1982-1985 after receiving his undergraduate degree in Public Policy Studies at Duke University. While at UVA, David was active in the Law Christian Fellowship, and met his wife Ellen while she was an undergraduate at Virginia. David and Ellen returned to the Charlottesville area when he retired in 2023, and are enjoying life on a farm in nearby Earlysville. 

David's legal career took him first to Washington, D.C., where among other positions he served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, was a partner in a major D.C. law firm, served as Chief Counsel of the Federal Aviation Administration, and finally was Deputy White House Counsel for President George W. Bush. In 2005, David was named general counsel at Ford Motor Company, and he and Ellen moved to Birmingham, Michigan, where they resided until 2016, when David became general counsel at Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both David and Ellen have been active in various ministries and non-profits in the communities where they have lived, and have been pleased to return to where their family first began. 

They have three children and three grandchildren. David is on the board of First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, North Carolina and is a member of the Executive Committee of the United States Golf Association.
