The Kenneth G. Elzinga Fund

Sustaining a Legacy of Christian Presence
at the University of Virginia

For more than five decades, Professor Ken Elzinga has shaped generations of University of Virginia students through academic excellence and a life marked by faith, integrity, and generosity. As a founder of the Center for Christian Study, Ken brought the same qualities that defined his teaching career into helping build a community where faith and learning flourish together. Ken's legacy of intellectual curiosity anchored in Christian conviction continues to inspire the mission of the Study Center.

In honor of his remarkable impact, the Kenneth G. Elzinga Fund has been established to ensure that the Study Center’s core programs and beautiful home on Chancellor Street will continue to serve students and faculty for years to come.

“The Lord has planted His flag in remarkable ways at UVA. It would take up too much space for me to describe how different the University is today than from how it was when I first joined the faculty. While the ‘fields remain white unto harvest,’ the soil is not as hard as it once was. I give God all the glory—but the Study Center merits much of the credit as His vehicle.”
