The stories of Abraham and his descendants lay the foundation for many of the most important themes of the Hebrew Scriptures. Join us every week as we get to know an all-too-human family—at turns heroic and cowardly, oppressive and generous, faithful and forgetful, trusting and conniving—who are nevertheless chosen by God to be agents of harmony and blessing to the whole world. We will dive into the literary and cultural context behind these stories so that we can better appreciate God's faithfulness and how Jesus became the fulfillment of the promises initiated in these chapters.
