Iain Provan exposes seven misconceptions about how and why Christians read the Old Testament. They all arise from a failure to take seriously the biblical literature on its own ancient Near Eastern terms. Provan also confronts how we misread the Old Testament's relation to the New Testament, and how the Old Testament matters just as much for Christians today as it did to its original audience.
