Christian Hope In An Anxious Age

Philippians 4:6-7 is a favorite of many. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Paul’s exhortation is good, beautiful, and true. But what if praying in moments of anxiety doesn’t always make the anxious feelings go away? Does that make me a bad Christian? Does it mean my faith is weak? If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably struggled with these questions.
We live in a world that is riddled with anxiety, fear, perfectionism, and comparison. And unfortunately, Christians are not immune. The good news is, we are part of a better story–one in which all things, including our emotions, are being redeemed.
What if stressful seasons can actually draw us closer to the Lord? Together we will explore how to navigate stressful emotions, what wisdom Scripture has to offer for anxious times, and how to embrace the hope of Christ in practical and thoughtful ways.
