The Biblical Practice of Prayer

We live in a world of ubiquitous prayer. Across all sorts of religions, adherents offer prayer; even within Christianity, prayers are offered in many different forms, and with many different expectations. But why do we pray? What do we expect, and what ought we expect? To answer these questions, we must develop a sound theology of prayer, drawn not from the world, but from the revelation of God to us in the Scriptures.
